Melbourne, Community, 200sqm
It was the church’s openness and friendliness that served as inspiration for their office design, along with the modern-industrial feel of their location in Blackburn.
They wanted an internal office fitout that represented the modern church feel and was welcoming to people from all walks of life. The building was constructed by Witbrook interiors and Integrity Office was appointed for all the internal fitout works.
The church also wanted the building to fit in with the Blackburn area, so we did quite a bit of research in and around the building. A lot of the inspiration came from the church members, as well as internally from the staff and their creative ideas for the space.
Community One wanted the church to maintain its identity in the Blackburn Suburb, which is why we added colours like orange, white and black strips to the internal joinery and the colours followed onto the open office cluster of workstations and various glass offices scattered around the ground floor. Having colour in this space meant it became a more fun and layed back environment, which is something Community One Church has wanted to achieve.
